DIN 2098 Standard: Technical Requirements for Cold-Formed Cylindrical Compression Springs

Attention: The DIN 2098 standard has been officially moved to archived status (withdrawn).

Technical regulations and scope

This normative document regulates the geometric parameters and technical requirements for cylindrical compression springs manufactured by cold forming from round wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm or more. The products are characterized by a uniform coil pitch in the working zone and are intended for absorbing axial loads.

The operational temperature range for standard versions varies from -30°C to +80°C. If it is necessary to use springs in extreme temperature conditions outside this range, EV Group China specialists recommend pre-agreeing on technical parameters and the choice of wire material to ensure the stability of force characteristics.

The main purpose of the DIN 2098 standard is to optimize the design process for assemblies and mechanisms, as well as to accelerate the supply of components for small-batch orders. The use of standardized sizes allows EV Group China engineers to significantly reduce the time spent on calculations and selecting optimal springs for specific engineering tasks.
