DIN 85387 Technical Specification: Loose Flanges and Welding Collars for Marine Pipelines

DIN 85387-1 – Loose flanges for marine pipelines (DN32-DN50 up to PN 25, DN65-DN125 up to PN 10)

This standard defines technical regulations for loose flanges intended for use with welding collars (collars) according to part 2 of the DIN 85387 specification. The products are designed for use in marine engineering and shipbuilding pipeline systems.

The standard was developed by the NSMT (Standardization Committee for Shipbuilding and Marine Technology) under the DIN technical council, specifically by working group 2.3.1, which specializes in metal pipes and connection elements.

Historically, lightweight components were regulated by the VG series standards. However, due to the need to unify components for high-speed civilian vessels and offshore platforms, the requirements for these flanges were transferred to the current DIN specification. EV Group China ensures the supply of these components in full compliance with the current standard requirements.

DIN 85387-2 – Welding collars made of CuNi10Fe1,6Mn alloy

This part of the standard describes the geometry and parameters of welding collars (collars), which are an integral part of the flange connection on ships. The design is intended for operation in pairs with DIN 85387-1 loose flanges and ensures reliable integration of pipes made of corrosion-resistant copper-nickel alloy grade CuNi10Fe1.6Mn (according to DIN 86019).

The main area of application for these assemblies is lightweight marine pipeline structures, where a combination of resistance to marine corrosion and reduction of the total weight of engineering systems is critical. EV Group China offers precision-manufactured collars that ensure the tightness and durability of connections in aggressive marine environments.
