DIN 558 Hexagon Head Bolts: Technical Specifications from EV Group China

Important note: The DIN 558 standard has currently been officially withdrawn and replaced by the current DIN EN ISO 4018:2011-07 specification. When designing new structures and conducting procurement, it is recommended to use the updated ISO requirements.

Technical description and field of application

The hexagon head bolt, compliant with the DIN 558 standard, is a fastener with a full metric thread, manufactured to accuracy class C (coarse). This type of hardware is widely used in industrial and civil construction, as well as in the assembly of metal structures where high precision of component mating is not required, but reliable fixation is essential.

EV Group China supplies these bolts for use in high-load assemblies in combination with nuts and flat washers of the appropriate size.

Material and performance characteristics

The products are manufactured from carbon steel with a strength class of 4.6. To ensure resistance to corrosion processes in aggressive environments, EV Group China offers options with protective coatings:

  • Uncoated steel (black fastener).
  • Galvanic zinc plating (electro-galvanizing) for standard operating conditions.
  • Thermal diffusion galvanizing for operation in high-humidity conditions.
  • Execution from corrosion-resistant polymer materials (plastic) for specific chemical production facilities.
