Technical features and scope of application of DIN 2502 flanges
The DIN 2502 standard defines the design parameters for flat steel flanges designed for a working pressure of 16 kgf/cm² (PN 16). The nominal size range covers values from DN 10 to DN 500. These components are widely used in the installation of pipeline systems to ensure leak-proof connections for pipelines and shut-off/control valves.
Technical documentation establishes strict requirements for geometric characteristics, steel grades used, final surface treatment methods, and calculated product weight. Production processes, supply regulations, and the marking system are based on the requirements of DIN 2519, while the selection of optimal sealing elements is carried out according to DIN 2526 standards.
Materials and production technologies at EV Group China
To ensure operational reliability in various aggressive environments and temperature conditions, EV Group China supplies flanges made of the following material groups:
- Stainless steels (austenitic and corrosion-resistant grades);
- Carbon steels (structural grades for general industrial use);
- Alloy steels (high-strength for operation under high loads).

Important note: The DIN 2502 standard is currently classified as archived. Modern production and pipeline design are based on the current international standard DIN EN 1092-1 (type 01). EV Group China specialists recommend taking this into account when selecting components for new engineering projects.
