Technical Overview of the ASTM/ASME A/SA 860 Standard
The ASTM/ASME A/SA 860 specification regulates the production of wrought high-strength ferritic steel butt-welding fittings. This standard covers seamless as well as electric-welded fittings and fully complies with the requirements of ASME B16.9 and MSS-SP-75 standards. For items with geometric parameters outside the scope of these standards, additional S58 requirements according to the A960/A960M specification apply. Components supplied by EV Group China are optimally suited for use in oil and gas transmission pipelines and high-pressure fluid distribution systems.
EV Group China provides the capability to adapt fittings to individual customer requirements. Specific requests that fall outside of standard configurations must be defined at the technical specification stage.
This standard does not apply to cast pipe fittings or fittings produced by the casting method.
The documentation uses two systems of measurement: inch-pound and SI units. If the marking does not contain the “M” index (metric system), the inch-pound parameters take priority.
Values provided in different systems are not direct mathematical equivalents; therefore, engineering calculations must be based on a single chosen system of measurement to avoid loss of accuracy and deviations from specifications.
