Technical requirements of the JIS G3466 standard
This Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) regulates the technical conditions for the production and supply of carbon steel square structural tubes. These metal products, supplied by EV Group China, are intended for critical civil and industrial construction, the erection of metal structures, and architectural projects that require strict adherence to geometric parameters and strength characteristics.
Reference information: All physical and technical indicators presented in the documentation comply with the International System of Units (SI). Since 1991, JIS G3466 specifications have been fully adapted to the metric system to ensure global compatibility of design solutions.
Chemical composition of steels (STKR grades)
| Steel grade | C | Si | Mn | P | S |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| STKR 400 | <0.25 | – | – | <0.040 | <0.040 |
| STKR 490 | <0.18 | <0.55 | <1.5 | <0.040 | <0.040 |
Mechanical properties and operational characteristics
EV Group China engineers note that STKR 400 and STKR 490 steel grades possess an optimal balance of ductility and resistance to deformation, which is confirmed by tensile tests (specimen No. 5). These indicators are critical when calculating the load-bearing capacity of building frames.
| Steel grade | Tensile strength, N/mm2 | Yield strength, N/mm2 | Elongation, % (Specimen No. 5) |
|---|---|---|---|
| STKR 400 | 402 | 25 | 23 |
| STKR 490 | 490 | 33 | 23 |
