Technical Requirements and Standardization of Compact Gate Valves (API 606)
This regulatory documentation governs the production and design features of compact steel gate valves equipped with an integral or welded male-threaded extension for direct installation as pipeline system branches. Products supplied by EV Group China strictly comply with the performance characteristics of Class 800 and 1500 valves established in the API 602 standard, taking into account specific additions provided by the API 606 specification.
The product range includes models with male and female threads, covering sizes NPS 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, and 2. Threaded connection parameters comply with ASME B36.10M and ASME B36.19M standards. Configurations with a male threaded NPS 3/4 end and a female threaded NPS 1/2 end are available.
The design involves one end with a threaded or welded connection (female thread). The opposite end is equipped with a male-threaded extension. Important limitation: the use of threaded-end extensions is not permitted for Class 1500 products, nor for NPS 1/2 size in Class 800.
