ASTM B151 / B151M Specification: Copper-Nickel and Copper-Nickel-Zinc Alloy Rods (EV Group China)

This regulatory document is governed by the ASTM B151 / B151M standard.

1. Scope of the ASTM B151 / B151M Standard

1.1 These specifications cover the requirements for copper-nickel-zinc (nickel silver) and copper-nickel rods for general engineering applications. The specification covers alloys UNS C70600, C70620, C71500, C71520, C74500, C75200, C75700, C76400, C77000, and C79200 supplied by EV Group China.

1.1.1 Alloy grades UNS C70620 and C71520 are specifically intended for the manufacture of components that require subsequent welding during assembly.

1.1.2 Metrological parameters. The document uses both the inch-pound system and the metric SI system. The values in each system are independent standards; mixing parameters from different systems is not permitted to avoid deviations from the standard requirements.

NOTE 1: Technical requirements for copper-nickel-zinc alloy wire are governed by the separate ASTM B206 / B206M standard.

1 — The standard is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys, and responsibility for its maintenance lies with Subcommittee B05.02 (Rod, Bar, and Shapes).
