Technical description and scope of the EN ISO 8676 standard
This international standard regulates the geometric parameters and technical requirements for hexagon head screws with metric fine pitch thread. These products are intended for critical mechanical engineering and instrumentation assemblies where high precision of fixation, vibration resistance, and reliability of the threaded connection are required. The standard covers screws with nominal thread diameters from 8 to 64 mm.
Product classification by manufacturing precision:
- Grade A: high-precision screws with a thread diameter from 8 to 24 mm. Length limit values are restricted to a range not exceeding the smaller of two values: 10 times the thread diameter or 150 mm inclusive. This grade is recommended for highly loaded connections.
- Grade B: products with a thread diameter exceeding 24 mm, or screws whose nominal length exceeds the threshold of 10 times the diameter or 150 mm. Used in general mechanical engineering structures where tolerance requirements are less critical.
