AWS A5.10 Standard: Specification for Welding Wires and Rods for Aluminum Alloys

Technical requirements and scope of the AWS A5.10 standard

This AWS A5.10 technical regulation establishes the classification criteria for solid welding wires and rods intended for gas metal arc welding of structures made of pure aluminum and its wrought or cast alloys. This document is an industry standard for ensuring the quality of welded joints when working with non-ferrous metals.

The standard does not cover occupational health and safety issues during welding operations. Recommendations for ensuring process safety are set out in Annex A (clauses A.6 and A.13). For an in-depth analysis of the regulatory framework, it is recommended to refer to additional state standards and international codes of practice.

The specification presents requirements in two measurement systems: US Customary and the International System of Units (SI). It is important to note that the values in these systems are not metrologically equivalent and should not be mixed within a single process sheet. SI values are provided in parentheses or separate table columns for the convenience of engineers.

EV Group China specialists are ready to provide professional consultation on the selection of filler materials that comply with the AWS A5.10 specification for solving tasks of any complexity in aluminum production.
