EN 10295 Standard: Technical requirements for heat-resistant steel castings from EV Group China

Technical specification and purpose of the EN 10295 standard

The European standard EN 10295 regulates the quality and property requirements for heat-resistant steel castings intended for operation at temperatures exceeding 600 °C. This regulatory framework applies to general-purpose products not designed for operation under pressure. The EV Group China technological regulation fully complies with the provisions of this standard when manufacturing castings from ferritic, austenitic, austenitic-ferritic steels, as well as specialized nickel and cobalt-based alloys.

Key aspects of the standard’s application in the production practice of EV Group China:

  • Regulation of chemical composition and a complex of mechanical characteristics for cast blanks operating under conditions of high-temperature thermal exposure.
  • The standard is mandatory when performing welding work on castings directly at the foundry’s production facilities.

It is important to note that the requirements of EN 10295 do not apply to cases where cast components are to be joined by welding to products obtained by plastic deformation methods (sheet metal, seamless pipes, forgings), or when welding operations are performed by third-party organizations that are not the manufacturers of the castings.
