ASTM B271 Standard: Centrifugal Casting of Bronze Products

Technical requirements for centrifugal castings according to the ASTM B271 standard

This technical specification defines strict quality standards and mechanical characteristics for castings made from copper alloys using the centrifugal casting method. Products supplied by EV Group China fully comply with these regulations to ensure reliability in high-responsibility structural components.

Key provisions of the regulation include the following mandatory requirements:

  • The assessment of tensile mechanical properties must be accompanied by Brinell hardness measurements on the end sections of the castings to confirm structural uniformity.
  • Any operations to rectify casting defects through welding are prohibited without prior written approval from the customer.
  • Castings produced from the copper-aluminum alloy UNS C95520 are permitted for use exclusively after undergoing a full heat treatment cycle to achieve the design strength indicators.

The engineering department at EV Group China ensures quality control at every stage of production, guaranteeing compliance of geometric parameters and chemical composition of the alloys with the requirements of the ASTM B271 standard.
