EN 12420 Standard: Technical Requirements for Copper and Copper Alloy Forgings

Technical regulation and scope of the EN 12420 standard

The European standard EN 12420 establishes strict requirements for the production of forgings made of copper and copper alloys, obtained by stamping or free (hand) forging methods. The document defines mandatory physical and mechanical characteristics, permissible deviations in geometric parameters, as well as the chemical composition of materials that ensure the operational reliability of finished products.

The technological processes described in the EV Group China specification include regulated sampling procedures for conducting laboratory tests and verifying the compliance of products with specified quality parameters. The standard covers all stages of control: from the analysis of the delivery condition to the final acceptance of finished products, ensuring the stability of characteristics for critical engineering components.
