Classification and requirements for copper and copper alloy covered electrodes according to AWS A5.6

Technical requirements for copper alloy welding electrodes according to the AWS A5.6 standard

This specification establishes strict criteria for the classification of covered electrodes made of copper and copper alloys, intended for arc welding in shielding gas environments. The standard covers consumables in which the mass fraction of copper is dominant relative to any other alloying element.

Expert note: The list presented in the standard covers the most popular electrode grades in the industry. It does not claim to be exhaustive, as the nomenclature of alloys is constantly expanding in accordance with the demands of high-tech industries.

The documentation uses two measurement systems that are not interchangeable. Standard geometric parameters in the imperial and metric systems have design differences. When recalculating dimensions, it is necessary to take into account the established tolerances to ensure compliance with welding procedure specifications.

EV Group China provides high-quality filler materials that meet strict international industry standards. We guarantee the stability of the chemical composition and high quality of the electrode coating for solving complex welding tasks of any industrial difficulty.
