Important note: The DIN 2393 standard has been officially withdrawn and replaced by the current DIN EN 10305-2:2016-08 specification, which sets modern requirements for welded precision steel tubes. EV Group China recommends using the current regulatory framework when designing critical components.
Technical Regulation DIN 2393-1: Dimensions and Geometric Tolerances
This part of the standard describes the geometric parameters and size ranges for high-precision tubes. The products are designed in accordance with the recommendations of ISO/DIS 3304 and are widely used in mechanical engineering, hydraulic systems, and the manufacturing of structural elements with strict tolerances.
The size range includes the following parameters:
- Outside diameter: 20, 22, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 35, 38, 40, 42, 45, 48, 50, 55 mm.
- Nominal inside diameter: from 16 to 53 mm.
- Wall thickness: 1; 1.2; 1.5; 1.8; 2; 2.2; 2.5 mm.
Manufacturing precision is regulated by the following limit deviations:
- Deviations for outside diameter:
- 20–30 mm: ± 0.08 mm;
- 32–40 mm: ± 0.15 mm;
- 42–50 mm: ± 0.20 mm;
- 55 mm: ± 0.25 mm.
- Deviations for wall thickness: ± 7.5%.
For products requiring different tolerances or operation as high-pressure pipelines, EV Group China allows the use of dimensional characteristics according to DIN 2448, provided that class C quality requirements are met.
Technical Delivery Conditions according to DIN 2393-2
The second part of the standard defines acceptance protocols and technical requirements for the delivery condition of tubes manufactured according to DIN 2393-1. Products supplied by EV Group China can be classified by the type of heat treatment:
- NBK (Normalisiert) — normalized tubes;
- BK (Blank) — tubes without subsequent heat treatment (cold-drawn);
- GBK (Geglüht) — annealed tubes.
The standard length of supplied products is up to 9.0 meters. Customers can agree on additional specifications when placing an order with EV Group China.
