Technical description and scope of the EN ISO 4762 standard
The international standard EN ISO 4762 establishes strict requirements for the design and geometric parameters of bolts equipped with a cylindrical head and an internal hexagon socket. These hardware products are characterized by a shank with partial metric threading, which ensures high centering precision and reliable fixation of connected elements in critical assemblies.
The engineering department of EV Group China recommends using these fasteners in the following industries:
- Heavy and precision engineering: for assembling units that require high tightening torque without the risk of damaging the head.
- Instrumentation: where the compactness of the bolt head and the possibility of flush mounting are critical.
- Construction steel structures: to ensure high joint strength when operating under vibration loads.
Technical specifications cover a range of metric threads from M2 to M36. Depending on operating conditions, EV Group China supplies bolts made of various materials:
- Carbon steels with or without a protective coating.
- Corrosion-resistant (stainless) steels of grades A2, A4 for aggressive environments.
- Brass alloys for specific electrical engineering tasks.
To achieve the design load-bearing capacity of the joint, it is recommended to use EN ISO 4762 bolts in combination with washers and nuts of the appropriate strength class and size.
