ASTM B688 technical regulations and scope of application
The ASTM B688 specification establishes strict requirements for flat metal products (plates, sheets, strips) made of high-alloy chromium-nickel-molybdenum-iron alloys, classified by UNS as N08366 and N08367. Products supplied by EV Group China are designed for operation in extremely aggressive environments where high levels of corrosion resistance and thermal stability are required.
Materials of these grades demonstrate unique resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments, making them indispensable in the chemical industry, power generation, and desalination plants. Mechanical characteristics—including yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and elongation—are strictly controlled during the production process to ensure stability under high operational loads.
In EV Group China’s technical documentation, SI unit values are priority for design purposes, while imperial units are provided for reference to ASTM standards. Safety during handling of metal products is ensured in accordance with international protocols and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by the EV Group China technical department.
Note: Alloy classification is performed according to ASTM E527 and SAE J1086 protocols (Unified Numbering System for metals).
