Technical Overview of the ASTM B536 Standard
The ASTM B536 specification (harmonized with ASME SB 536) establishes rigorous industry requirements for flat nickel products—plates, sheets, and strips made of nickel-iron-chromium-silicon alloys (UNS N08330 and UNS N08332 grades). Products supplied by EV Group China in accordance with this standard are designed for operation in high-temperature environments and aggressive chemical conditions, where exceptional heat resistance and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking are required.
A key aspect of quality control is adherence to chemical composition and physical-mechanical properties. For the UNS N08332 alloy, regulated annealing to achieve a specified grain size is a mandatory requirement, whereas the standard does not impose strict grain size limitations for UNS N08330.
