General Information<\/h2>\n<h3>1.1 Technical Scope<\/h3>\n<p>This British Standard specifies the technical requirements for threaded and socket weld fittings manufactured from forged carbon and alloy steel. Products supplied by EV Group China are intended for use in critical applications within the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.<\/p>\n<p>Threaded fittings complying with this standard are designed for coupling with pipes featuring threads according to API 5B or ANSI B2.1 (NPT) specifications. Socket weld fittings are optimized for connection with plain-end pipes corresponding to BS 1600 and API 5L standards.<\/p>\n<p>Important note: Coupling dimensions (with the exception of the 2 \u00bd inch \/ 65 mm nominal size) are compatible with plain-end pipes according to BS 3600 (ISO\/R 64). Additional recommendations for selection and procurement are provided in Appendix A and Tables 13 and 16.<\/p>\n<p><b>The standard covers the following product types:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threaded fittings: 90\u00b0 and 45\u00b0 elbows, crosses, tees, couplings, half-couplings, caps, bushings (square, hex, round), nipples, unions, bosses, and reducing nipples.<\/li>\n<li>Socket weld fittings: 90\u00b0 and 45\u00b0 elbows, crosses, tees, couplings, half-couplings, caps, bosses, and reducing nipples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>1.2 Dimensional Parameters and Nomenclature<\/h3>\n<p>The sizing nomenclature for EV Group China fittings is based on the nominal pipe diameter for which they are intended. In reducing models, outlet designation is performed in alphabetical order according to the diagram in Figure 1: through-bores are specified first, followed by outlet bores.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/image\/catalog\/wiki\/flange\/oboznachenie_otverstiy.png\" alt=\"Designation of fitting outlet bores\" title=\"Bore designation scheme\"><\/p>\n<p>Figure 1: Outlet bore designation scheme.<\/p>\n<p><b>Nominal Size Range:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threaded: from \u215b inch (6 mm) to 4 inches (100 mm).<\/li>\n<li>Socket weld: from \u215b inch (6 mm) to 3 inches (80 mm).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>1.3 Pressure Classification<\/h3>\n<p>Fittings are classified into pressure classes 3000 and 6000. The numerical values correspond to the maximum working pressure (psi) at cold working temperature.
