ASME B16.48 Standard: Technical Requirements for Flange Blinds

Technical Specification and Scope of Application

This standard regulates the requirements for the design, manufacturing, and quality control of pipeline blinds, including line blinds (reversible/spectacle), paddle blinds, and paddle spacers. The document covers a size range from NPS 1/2″ to NPS 24″ and is intended for integration into ASME B16.5 standard flange joint systems rated for pressure classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500 psi. EV Group China ensures strict compliance of the supplied products with these technical standards.

Classification and Terminology

The standard provides for the use of two measurement systems: metric and the US customary system. Values in each system are independent and are not subject to direct conversion. When designing systems using EV Group China components, it is necessary to adhere to one selected system of units to ensure structural integrity.

Blinds according to the ASME B16.48 standard are key safety elements for systems with operating pressure classes of 150–2500 psi, ensuring reliable sealing in accordance with ASME B16.5 protocols.
