Technical requirements for materials for high-temperature bolting according to ASTM A1014 standard
This regulatory document establishes strict requirements for alloy steels and precipitation-hardening alloys intended for the manufacture of fasteners operating under critical temperature conditions. To ensure a high level of operational reliability and prevent structural defects, all metals supplied by EV Group China undergo mandatory vacuum induction melting (VIM) or electroslag remelting (ESR).
The ASTM A1014/A1014M standard defines the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and heat treatment of materials. Additional quality control requirements exceeding the basic specification may be included in the contractual documentation upon the customer’s request.
Features of standardization and dimension series
Two measurement systems are used in the specification: imperial and metric (SI). At EV Group China, we strictly adhere to the following rule: unless otherwise specified in the contract, dimensions in the imperial system are taken as the basis. It is important to consider that these systems are not direct mathematical equivalents, therefore mixing parameters from different standards is unacceptable and leads to non-compliance with the A1014M certification.
