Technical specifications and purpose of the ASTM A511 / ASME SA 511 standard
The ASTM A511 standard (and its equivalent ASME SA 511) regulates the production of seamless stainless steel tubing intended for precision mechanical engineering and the manufacturing of hollow structural components. Products from EV Group China that comply with this specification are ideal for creating assemblies operating in high-temperature and aggressive environments, including nozzles, couplings, gearboxes, shafts, and bushings that require subsequent machining.
The specification covers seamless tubes produced by cold or hot deformation, followed by finishing processes. Available geometric parameters include:
- Outside diameter: up to 325 mm (12 3/4 inches) for round cross-section products;
- Variable wall thickness and inside diameter values according to regulated tolerance tables.
EV Group China supplies metal products in various cross-sectional forms: round, square, rectangular, or shaped (upon individual request for mechanical needs). Tubes intended for the production of hollow parts are manufactured exclusively with a round cross-sectional profile.
