ASTM A943 / ASME SA 943: Technical Specifications for Seamless Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipes

Technical features of the ASTM/ASME A/SA 943 specification

The ASTM/ASME A/SA 943 standard regulates the production of seamless pipes manufactured via the spray-formed method. This product is designed for operation in high-temperature conditions and aggressive chemical environments, making it highly sought after in the energy sector and the petrochemical industry. EV Group China ensures the supply of pipes that strictly comply with these specifications, guaranteeing the stability of the material’s structural characteristics.

Special high-temperature modifications of grades TP304H, TP309H, TP309HCb, TP310H, TP310HCb, TP316H, TP321H, TP347H, and TP348H are austenitic steels with controlled grain size and carbon content, optimized for operation under thermal loads. They are specialized counterparts to the base grades TP304, TP309Cb, TP309S, TP310Cb, TP310S, TP316, TP321, TP347, and TP348, possessing enhanced heat resistance and long-term creep strength.

Additional parameters and size range

For the design of pipeline systems, Appendix X1 of the standard provides standard sizes corresponding to ANSI B36.19 norms. Experts at EV Group China are prepared to fulfill orders for pipes with non-standard parameters, provided that full compliance with all mandatory requirements of ASTM/ASME A/SA 943 is ensured.

When performing calculations, it should be noted that values stated in SI units and inch-pound units are independent and are not always precise equivalents. Using data from different systems within a single engineering project may lead to non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

Note: In the current version of the standard, the designation NPS (nominal pipe size) is used as a unified term for nominal diameters and product sizes.
