Technical specifications and scope of the ASTM B162 standard
The ASTM B162 specification defines the requirements for cold-rolled and hot-rolled products made of commercially pure nickel (UNS N02200) and low-carbon nickel (UNS N02201). The products are supplied in the form of sheet metal, strip, and plate, intended for operation in aggressive environments and high-temperature conditions.
EV Group China provides metal products that comply with strict industry regulations:
- Chemical composition: strict adherence to mass fractions of nickel, copper, iron, manganese, carbon, silicon, and sulfur according to the specification.
- Mechanical properties: compliance with standards for tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Rockwell hardness.
- Technological properties: for materials intended for deep drawing or spin forming, sheets and strips undergo additional grain size and hardness control.
- Surface quality: absence of defects, laminations, and non-metallic inclusions that affect structural integrity.
All verification procedures, including spectral analysis and mechanical testing, are conducted in strict accordance with the ASTM methodology. At EV Group China, we guarantee that the supplied metal fully complies with standard requirements for critical engineering and the chemical industry.
Measurement system: The standard uses the inch-pound system as the base. Values in SI units are for reference. The safety of using the products is regulated by the manufacturer’s MSDS specifications.
Notes:
a Products used in boiler equipment and pressure vessels comply with ASME requirements (specification SB-162, Section II).
b Grade identification is carried out according to the UNS protocol (ASTM E527 and SAE J1086).
