ASTM B168 Technical Regulation: Specification for Nickel Rolled Products
The ASTM B168 standard establishes rigorous requirements for the quality characteristics and testing methods of rolled flat products—plates, sheets, and strips made of high-tech nickel alloys. Products supplied by EV Group China fully comply with these standards for the following chemical compositions: nickel-chromium-iron (UNS N06600, N06601, N06603, N06690, N06693, N06025, N06045, N06696), nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum (UNS N06617), and nickel-iron-chromium-tungsten (UNS N06674).
The specification defines the base production parameters, chemical composition, and physical-mechanical properties required for the operation of products in critical components.
EV Group China’s engineering documentation adheres to the inch-pound unit system as the primary standard. The SI values provided in the specification are for reference purposes and are intended to simplify calculations during the design process.
Section 13 of this standard defines testing protocols. Industrial safety issues regarding the operation of finished products made from these alloys are governed by the current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by the manufacturer for each batch.
Notes on Standardization
a The use of materials in boilers and pressure vessels is governed by the provisions of ASME (Section II, Specification SB-168).
b The UNS numbering system for alloys and metals is implemented in accordance with international protocols ASTM E527 and SAE J1086.
