Titanium Tubes according to ASTM B338 / ASME SB 338: Specifications and Alloy Grades

Technical requirements of the ASTM B338 standard

The ASTM B338 specification regulates the manufacture of seamless and welded tubes made of titanium and its alloys, optimized for operation in heat exchange equipment, surface condensers, and evaporators. EV Group China supplies metal products that fully comply with these engineering standards.

The technical requirements of ASTM B338 are based on the inch-pound system; SI values are provided for information purposes. Grades with the “H” suffix are characterized by increased ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and are certified for use in pressure vessels.

The specification was developed by ASTM Committee B10. For the design of steam boilers and equipment operating under excess pressure, the provisions of ASME (Section II, specification SB338) must be followed.
