ASTM B363 (ASME SB 363) Standard: Titanium Fittings for Critical Pipelines from EV Group China

Technical Regulations and Scope of ASTM B363

The ASTM B363 standard (identical to ASME SB 363) establishes stringent requirements for seamless and welded piping fittings manufactured from unalloyed titanium and titanium alloys. Products supplied by EV Group China comply with these specifications and are designed for operation in aggressive chemical environments that require high corrosion resistance, as well as in assemblies exposed to extreme temperatures.

The specification covers a wide range of butt-welding fittings, including:

  • Standard radius elbows (45° and 90°);
  • Return bends (180°);
  • Equal and reducing tees;
  • Concentric and eccentric reducers;
  • Caps and lap-joint stub ends.

EV Group China engineers emphasize that the selection of a specific titanium grade according to ASTM B363 should be based on calculations of operating pressure and the chemical activity of the transported medium. The responsibility for integrating these components into the design system and complying with industry industrial safety standards lies with the operating organization. When designing systems using titanium fittings, it is necessary to consider the physical and mechanical properties of the alloys to ensure the durability of welded joints.
