Technical Overview of the ASTM B475 Standard
The ASTM B475 standard (and its counterpart ASME SB 475) regulates the technical requirements for cold-drawn wire intended for weaving wire mesh and filter elements made from specialized corrosion-resistant alloys: UNS N08020, UNS N08026, and UNS N08024. Products supplied by EV Group China fully comply with these standards, ensuring stability in chemical composition and mechanical properties during the production of woven wire mesh.
Important technical note: Standard wire according to the ASTM B475 specification is not intended for welding processes. For the manufacture of products operating under high-temperature conditions or requiring subsequent welding, it is necessary to use materials that meet the ASTM B473 (ASME SB 473) specification, which possess increased structural stability and resistance to intergranular corrosion.
All geometric parameters in the specification are fixed in the inch-pound system, which is the primary standard. Values in SI units are provided for reference purposes only.
Industrial safety and occupational health issues when working with these materials are regulated by internal company protocols based on the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by EV Group China for each batch of metal products.
