ASTM B523 / ASME SB 523: Specification for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Pipes from EV Group China

Technical parameters and purpose of the ASTM B523 standard

The ASTM B523 standard (equivalent to ASME SB 523) regulates the production and technical specifications of seamless and welded pipes made of zirconium and its alloys. Products supplied by EV Group China fully comply with these standards, ensuring high corrosion resistance in aggressive chemical environments.

  • Grade R60702 — commercially pure unalloyed zirconium with high ductility.
  • Grade R60704 — zirconium-tin alloy, possessing increased strength and wear resistance.

Metrological standards and tolerances

The technical requirements of the ASTM B523 standard provide for the use of either the inch-pound system or the International System of Units (SI). The values presented in each system are autonomous standards. To ensure the accuracy of engineering calculations and compliance with specifications, EV Group China recommends not converting or mixing values from different measurement systems.

This regulatory documentation does not cover the complete list of industrial safety protocols. When working with zirconium products, specialists are required to comply with internal occupational safety regulations and take into account specific requirements for the operation of equipment working with highly reactive metals.
