ASTM B625 (ASME SB 625): Specification for Nickel Alloys (UNS N08925, N08926, etc.)

Technical specifications and scope of the ASTM B625 standard

The ASTM B625 specification defines strict requirements for the production and quality of annealed sheet, strip, and plate made from high-alloy nickel alloys, including grades UNS N08925, UNS N08031, UNS N08932, UNS N08926, UNS N08354, and UNS R20033. Products supplied by EV Group China undergo mandatory chemical composition control (content of C, Mn, P, S, Si, Ni, Cr, Mo, Cu, N, Fe) and compliance with regulated physical and mechanical parameters: tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Rockwell hardness.

According to the ASTM International classification, a number of alloys with high iron content have been reclassified as stainless steels. Specifically, grade UNS N08904, previously mentioned in this standard, is now regulated by ASTM A240/A240M and ASTM A480/A480M standards under the supervision of the ASTM A01 technical committee.

Technical specialists at EV Group China note that the standard prioritizes values in inch-pound units. Metric values shown in parentheses are for reference only. When working with materials compliant with ASTM B625, it is necessary to consult the current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by the manufacturer, as this standard does not cover industrial safety issues related to the use of finished metal products.
