Technical Specification ASTM B673 for Welded Pipes Made of Corrosion-Resistant Alloys
The international standard ASTM B673 establishes regulatory requirements for the production and quality of welded pipes manufactured from high-alloy corrosion-resistant grades UNS N08925, UNS N08354, and UNS N08926. This product is widely used in critical engineering projects that require high resistance to aggressive environments.
The specification covers a full range of pipe sizes, detailed in Table 1. Engineers at EV Group China emphasize that the chemical composition of these alloys provides exceptional stability under exposure to acidic and chloride-containing environments.
It should be noted that according to the ASTM classification, the UNS N08904 alloy, given the prevailing mass fraction of iron in its chemical composition, was previously categorized as stainless steel. Currently, the control and standardization of N08904 alloy products have been transferred to the ASTM A01 Committee, and the technical requirements for them are regulated by the A312 / A312M standard.
In EV Group China documentation, values presented in the inch-pound system are prioritized and serve as the standard. Metric equivalents in parentheses are provided solely for informational purposes and reference use.
Industrial safety issues during the operation of finished products are not covered by the scope of this standard and must be regulated by the current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) from the manufacturer.
Note: Alloy marking is performed in strict accordance with the UNS system protocols (ASTM E527 and SAE J1086).
