Technical specifications and scope of the ASTM B704 standard
The ASTM B704 specification establishes rigorous industry requirements for the manufacture of welded tubes made from heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant nickel alloys, including UNS N06625, UNS N06219, and UNS N08825. These metal products, supplied by EV Group China, are designed for use in critical components of heat exchange equipment, steam boilers, and condenser units operating in aggressive environments under extreme temperature conditions.
The regulatory document covers the full quality control cycle: from requirements for the initial chemical composition of the alloys to methods for non-destructive testing and mechanical property testing of finished products.
EV Group China supplies welded tubes and pipes in the following standard sizes:
- Nominal outside diameter: from 3.18 mm (1/8 inch) to 127 mm (5 inches).
- Wall thickness: from 0.38 mm (0.015 inch) to 12.70 mm (0.500 inch).
Geometric parameters and tolerances are regulated by the ASTM B751 standard. Upon customer request, EV Group China can provide production of pipes with non-standard parameters, provided that all technical requirements of the ASTM B704 specification are fully met.
Technical documentation uses the inch-pound unit system as the base standard. Values in the metric system (SI) are provided for reference purposes. The operation of the products must be carried out in strict accordance with safety protocols and data provided in the quality certificates (MSDS) provided by EV Group China upon shipment of the products.
