ASTM B705 / ASME SB 705 Standard: Welded Nickel Alloy Pipes

Technical aspects and application scope of the ASTM B705 / ASME SB 705 standard

The ASTM B705 standard (and its corresponding ASME SB 705) regulates the production of welded pipes made from heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant nickel alloys, including grades UNS N06625, UNS N06219, and UNS N08825. These products are supplied in an annealed condition, which ensures an optimal metal microstructure for operation in environments with increased aggressiveness and risk of general corrosion.

EV Group China supplies welded pipes that comply with these specifications, covering the entire range of sizes according to standard schedules. The technical requirements for tolerances on outer diameter and wall thickness for nickel alloy welded pipes are further detailed in the ASTM B775 / ASME SB 775 standard.

For engineering calculations and pipeline system design, it should be noted that the base units of measurement in the specification are inches and pounds. Values in the metric system, presented in parentheses, are for informational purposes only.

Safety requirements during testing

Particular attention is paid to the quality control procedures described in section 8 of the regulatory documentation. EV Group China emphasizes that the presented standard is not an exhaustive safety guide, and internal industrial safety protocols of the enterprise must be followed when conducting tests.
