Important note: The DIN 1629 standard has been officially replaced by the current European regulation EN 10216-1.
Scope of application for seamless pipes according to DIN 1629
This standard document defines the technical delivery conditions for seamless circular pipes made of non-alloy steels, the list of which is presented in the table below. This type of EV Group China product is widely used in the design of industrial systems, tank equipment, main pipelines, as well as in heavy mechanical engineering. The parameters for permissible working pressure and operating temperature regimes are regulated by tabular data, and the strength indicators when heated up to 300 °C are described in Appendix A to the standard.
The specified requirements are basic, unless otherwise regulated by industry-specific instructions, such as TRD (rules for steam boilers) or TRB/AD (standards for pressure vessels).
This standard does not apply to the following types of products:
- seamless pipes made of non-alloy special-purpose steels (according to DIN 1630);
- pipes made of structural steels for general construction purposes (according to DIN 17121);
- heat-resistant seamless pipes (according to DIN 17175);
- precision pipe products with increased accuracy (according to DIN 2391, part 2);
- medium and heavy series pipes with threaded connections (according to DIN 2440 and DIN 2441).
