Attention: The DIN 17222 standard is considered obsolete and has been replaced by the modern specifications DIN EN 10132-1:2000-05 and DIN EN 10132-4:2003-04.
Technical Overview and Scope of the DIN 17222 Standard
This technical regulation defines the requirements for cold-rolled steel strip, the physical and mechanical characteristics of which are presented in Table 1. The thickness range of the rolled metal products is from 5 mm to 600 mm. Deliveries carried out by EV Group China strictly comply with the parameters specified in Table 3. This type of rolled product is optimized for the production of high-load springs, as well as a wide range of critical parts operated under conditions of high cyclic loads.
The scope of this standard does not cover the following product categories:
- Hot-rolled spring steel (regulated by DIN 17221);
- Non-alloy patented spring wire (regulated by DIN 17223-1);
- Tempered spring wire and finished springs made of non-alloy steels (regulated by DIN 17223-2);
- Spring strip and wire made of corrosion-resistant (stainless) steels (regulated by DIN 17224).
