Technical requirements of the DIN 17660 standard
This technical regulation defines the normative requirements for the chemical composition and classification of semi-finished products made from copper-zinc alloys (brass), where zinc acts as the main alloying component. The standard provides engineers and technologists with precise data for material selection when designing critical components and structures.
To identify alloys according to the DIN 17660 standard, unified alphanumeric codes are used, which correlate with their chemical composition and operational characteristics, as presented in the table below.
