This standard has been replaced by EN 15800.
Scope
The DIN 2095 standard defines the technical quality requirements for cylindrical compression springs manufactured by cold forming from hardened round wire. After the forming process, the products undergo low-temperature tempering to relieve internal stresses. The technology is applicable for wire diameters up to 17 mm. In the 10–17 mm diameter range, the choice between cold and hot forming is determined by operational loads, material grade, and spring type (for additional information, see DIN 2089-1).
For products complying with this standard, the following parameter limitations specified in section 3.5 are established:
- Mean coil diameter (Dm): up to 200 mm.
- Number of active coils (it): ≥ 2.
- Free spring length (L0): up to 630 mm.
- Spring index (w): from 4 to 20.
