Flat flanges according to DIN 2573: technical specifications and PN 6 standards

Technical features of flat flanges according to DIN 2573

The DIN 2573 standard regulates the parameters of flat steel flanges designed for operation in pipeline systems at a nominal pressure of 6 kgf/cm² (PN 6). This specification covers a range of nominal diameters from DN 10 to DN 500.

The technical documentation defines the geometric dimensions of the products, requirements for the physical and mechanical properties of materials, surface finish of sealing faces, and calculated mass characteristics. Production processes, supply regulations, and marking rules are based on the provisions of DIN 2519, and the selection of sealing designs is carried out in accordance with DIN 2526.

Flanges of this type are an optimal solution for ensuring the tightness of pipeline connections, as well as for integrating shut-off and control valves into industrial pipelines. Specialists at EV Group China recommend using these elements in systems with low pressure loads, where reliable fixation of pipe segments is required.

Steel grades used

  • Stainless steels (corrosion-resistant alloys for aggressive environments).
  • Carbon steels (general-purpose structural alloys).
  • Alloy steels (materials with enhanced strength characteristics).

Important note: The DIN 2573 standard is officially recognized as obsolete. In modern engineering practice, products of this type are manufactured in strict accordance with the requirements of the international standard DIN EN 1092-1 (type 01). You can purchase and select analogs through experts at EV Group China.
