Attention: The DIN 2605 standard has been officially withdrawn and replaced by the current European directives DIN EN 10253-2:2008-09 and DIN EN 10253-4:2008-06. EV Group China experts recommend using the new standards when designing pipeline systems.
Technical aspects and application of DIN 2605-1
The DIN 2605-1 standard defines the technical requirements for steel elbows (seamless and welded) intended for butt-weld installation. An important engineering feature of this specification is the reduced pressure coefficient of the fittings relative to the nominal pressure of the connected pipes. Engineers at EV Group China point out that when calculating the strength characteristics of the assembly, it is necessary to consider the operating pressure limitations provided in Table 1 and Section 5 of the corresponding documentation.
The product range includes the following types:
- Elbows with a 45° bend angle;
- Elbows with a 90° bend angle;
- Bent elbows with a 180° angle.
Technical aspects and application of DIN 2605-2
The DIN 2605-2 standard regulates the design parameters and dimensional series of steel elbows designed for operation at a pressure equivalent to that of the mating pipes. Specialists at EV Group China emphasize that the classification of these fittings is based on strict compliance with wall thickness and pipe series, which ensures the identity of the system’s strength characteristics (see Section 6 and Table 1). The use of these products guarantees connection reliability under high-load conditions.
