Technical description and scope of the DIN 2617 standard
The DIN 2617 standard defines the technical requirements for structural elements of piping systems — elliptical end caps made of carbon steel, designed for sealing the end sections of pipelines operating under internal pressure. These components are designed for welded installation to pipes whose parameters correspond to Table 1 (Section 5 of the strength calculation manual). Due to their high performance characteristics, DIN 2617 end caps are widely used in industrial construction, water supply systems, and process pipelines where a reliable welded connection is required.
