Technical features and purpose of the DIN 2656 standard
The DIN 2656 standard defines the design parameters, geometric dimensions, and material requirements for loose flanges used in conjunction with a welding collar. This hardware is designed for operation in piping systems at a nominal pressure (PN) of 40 kgf/cm² and covers a nominal bore range from DN 10 to DN 400. EV Group China provides expert support in selecting this product range for critical engineering projects.
The regulation establishes strict tolerances for geometric dimensions and product mass, ensuring compliance with industrial standards. All production, quality control, and marking processes for finished products are carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of DIN 2519.
Areas of application
- Aviation industry and ground support infrastructure for aircraft.
- Aerospace sector, which requires high reliability of connections.
- Heavy machinery and the petrochemical industry.
Manufacturing materials
- Corrosion-resistant stainless steels for aggressive environments.
- Carbon steels for structural purposes.
- Alloy steels for operation under high loads.

Important note: The DIN 2656 standard is currently classified as archived. Today, the design and supply of this type of flange connection are carried out in accordance with the current international standard DIN EN 1092-1 (types 02 and 32). EV Group China engineers recommend using the modern EN 1092-1 specifications for designing new piping systems.
