This international standard defines design requirements, dimensional parameters, material selection, and designation nomenclature for specialized sealing elements. The scope of the document includes welded membrane seals designed for operation in a nominal pressure range from PN 63 to PN 400 (from Class 150 to Class 2500, respectively).
Furthermore, the standard regulates the technical specifications of welded ring seals used in similar pressure ranges (PN 10 — PN 400 / Class 150 — 2500). The provisions of the document apply to mating sealing rings intended for assembly with flange connections designed according to DIN 2501-1, DIN EN 1092-1, and DIN EN 1759-1.
