The DIN 439 standard has been officially withdrawn and replaced by the current regulatory document DIN EN ISO 8675:2013-04.
Technical features of DIN 439-1
This standard defines the geometric parameters and tolerances for low hexagon nuts without chamfer, belonging to accuracy class “B”. The products are structurally identical to the fasteners regulated by the international standard ISO 4036. EV Group China specialists recommend taking these specifications into account when selecting components for high-precision assemblies where a minimum fastener height is required.
The following materials and protection methods are used for the production of nuts of this type:
- Corrosion-resistant (stainless) steels of various grades.
- Carbon steels with protective coating (galvanic zinc plating, nickel plating, or chrome plating to increase wear resistance).
- Brass alloys for applications requiring non-magnetic properties or increased electrical conductivity.
Technical features of DIN 439-2
This revision of the standard establishes the limiting dimensions and technical requirements for thin hexagon nuts with metric thread. The range of nominal diameters varies from M1.6 to M52, including versions with fine thread pitch (from M8 × 1 to M52 × 3). The product design complies with current requirements of EN ISO 4035 and EN ISO 8675, providing a high accuracy class (A and B) for critical threaded connections in mechanical engineering and instrumentation.
