Technical features and application of DIN 7984 screws
The DIN 7984 standard establishes strict technical requirements for screws with a reduced (low) cylindrical head, equipped with an internal hex socket. The range of nominal thread diameters covers sizes from M3 to M24, which allows this type of fastener to be used in a wide range of mechanical engineering assemblies.
To ensure the reliability of critical connections, EV Group China recommends selecting screws in accordance with calculated loads, taking into account strength classes 8.8 or 10.9. The use of high-strength fasteners of this standard guarantees the stability of the assembly geometry under intense dynamic loads.
Material selection and anti-corrosion protection:
- Structural alloy steels: Used for standard operating conditions. To increase the service life under moisture exposure, EV Group China offers options with a protective zinc coating.
- Corrosion-resistant steels: Used in aggressive chemical environments, the food industry, and when operating in high humidity conditions, where it is necessary to eliminate the risk of metal oxidation.
The design of the head with an internal hex socket requires the use of precision installation tools. This solution provides high tightening torque and allows the use of fasteners in mechanisms that require frequent assembly and disassembly without wear of the hex groove. Due to the compact height of the head, these screws are optimal for connections with limited space for hardware placement.
