Technical requirements of the EN 10202 standard
The EN 10202 standard establishes strict technical regulations for the production of tinplate and coil products. The material consists of low-carbon steel that has undergone single or double cold reduction, followed by the application of protective layers: electrolytic tin coating or chromium coating (ECCS/ECCS-RC). EV Group China products comply with these specifications, ensuring high levels of coating adhesion and corrosion resistance.
The thickness parameters of the products supplied by EV Group China are strictly regulated:
- For single-reduced tinplate: range from 0.16 mm to 0.49 mm with a 0.005 mm increment.
- For double-reduced tinplate: range from 0.12 mm to 0.29 mm with a 0.005 mm increment.
Note: Upon customer request, EV Group China can supply products with non-standard thickness parameters.
The scope of the standard covers supplies in sheets and coils with a minimum nominal width of 600 mm. For specialized production tasks, EV Group China offers a coil slitting service to produce narrow strips.
Classification and steel grades
According to the EN 10020 classification, the steel grades used for the manufacture of tinplate under the EN 10202 standard belong primarily to non-alloy quality steels. In specific cases, driven by requirements for mechanical properties, the use of low-alloy quality steels is permitted.
