Technical requirements for wire according to the EN 10223-4 standard
The European standard EN 10223-4 regulates the technical conditions for the production of steel wire intended for the manufacture of welded meshes and fencing structures. The document establishes strict criteria for chemical composition, types of protective anti-corrosion coatings, mechanical properties, and permissible deviations in the geometric parameters of the products.
The standard applies exclusively to meshes with an orthogonal cell structure, where the wire connections are made by resistance welding at right angles. EV Group China provides metal products that fully comply with these regulatory requirements.
Scope of application and limitations
The regulation covers welded meshes supplied both in roll form and as flat panels. To ensure the structural integrity and durability of fences, the standard limits the use of wire products with a cross-section of up to 10 mm inclusive in the production of panels.
EV Group China engineers recommend using this standard when designing perimeter protection systems and industrial fencing, as it guarantees the stability of the physical and mechanical characteristics of the material during operation in various climatic conditions.
