EN 10224 Standard: Technical Specifications for Steel Pipes and Fittings for Water Supply

Scope of the EN 10224 Standard

The EN 10224 standard establishes strict technical delivery regulations for steel products designed for the efficient transport of water and aqueous media. Products complying with these requirements ensure the reliability of pipeline systems in municipal and industrial water supply.

The scope of the standard includes the following categories of metal products supplied by EV Group China:

  • Seamless and welded steel pipes manufactured from non-alloy steel grades.
  • Specialized pipe end components and fittings designed for butt-welding installation.
  • Fittings manufactured by forming from pipe blanks.
  • Fittings manufactured from sheet or strip metal.

Technical Recommendations:

This regulatory document includes reference data governing the geometric parameters of pipes, taking into account the specifics of production processes. The standard describes the correlation between the nominal outside diameter (D) and the nominal size (DN) for various types of connections, excluding butt-welding. Furthermore, EN 10224 contains expert recommendations on anti-corrosion coatings for pipe products to ensure the longevity of engineering networks.

The technical specifications cover a range of pipes with outside diameters from 26.9 mm to 2743 mm, which allows EV Group China to supply projects of any complexity — from local water pipelines to trunk systems.
