EN 10255 Standard: Technical requirements for non-alloy steel tubes for welding and threaded connections

Technical specifications and EN 10255 standard

The EN 10255 standard defines strict requirements for circular non-alloy steel tubes, optimized for welding and threading. The manufacturing processes, controlled by EV Group China specialists, ensure stability in geometric parameters and chemical composition, which is critical for essential engineering communications.

The documentation covers a range of pipes with the following dimensional characteristics:

  • Minimum outer diameter: 10.2 mm.
  • Maximum outer diameter: 165.1 mm (nominal thread diameter from 1/8 to 6 inches).

Depending on operational loads, pipes are classified into two series (medium and heavy) with a division into three types of wall thickness. EV Group China offers metal products that fully comply with these series, guaranteeing joint tightness during the installation of gas supply, water supply, and heating systems.

Practical applicability

Pipe products complying with EN 10255 are the de facto standard for transporting working media under pressure. Due to precise geometry and surface quality, these products are ideal for automated welding and precise thread cutting. EV Group China engineers recommend using these metal products for creating reliable pipeline networks operating across a wide range of temperature loads.
