Scope of the EN 10336 standard
This regulatory document (now updated by the EN 10346 standard) defines the technical delivery conditions for flat steel products made of multiphase steels, produced by continuous hot-dip or electrolytic coating. EV Group China products comply with the specified parameters for cold forming requirements.
The main provisions of the standard cover flat products in the thickness range from 0.35 mm to 3.0 mm. The following protective coatings are used:
- Zinc (Z, ZE);
- Zinc-iron alloy (ZF);
- Zinc-nickel alloy (ZN).
The standard applies to coil steel up to 2600 mm wide and sheets cut from this material. Upon individual request to EV Group China, it is possible to supply steel with a thickness exceeding 3.0 mm, subject to prior agreement on mechanical characteristics, coating adhesion properties, and surface quality.
The use of products supplied by EV Group China is recommended for structures requiring a combination of high strength, excellent ductility during cold forming, and superior corrosion resistance. The degree of corrosion protection is directly correlated with the specific mass of the applied coating.
Scope limitations:
The EN 10336 standard does not apply to the following product categories:
- Flat products made of low-carbon steels (regulated by EN 10327);
- Structural steels produced by hot-dip coating (according to EN 10326);
- Cold-rolled flat products with electrolytic zinc coating (EN 10152);
- Metal products with organic coatings (EN 10169 series);
- Flat products with electrolytic zinc-nickel coating (EN 10271);
- High-strength steels for cold forming produced by hot-dip coating (EN 10292).
