EN 10346 Standard: Technical specifications for continuously hot-dip coated steel flat products

Technical specification and scope of EN 10346

The international standard EN 10346 regulates the requirements for flat steel products subjected to continuous hot-dip coating. This standard covers a wide range of steels: from low-carbon grades for deep drawing to high-strength structural alloys intended for complex cold-forming processes.

Types of protective coatings provided by the standard:

  • Zinc (Z);
  • Zinc-iron alloy (ZF);
  • Zinc-aluminum alloy (ZA);
  • Aluminum-zinc alloy (AZ);
  • Aluminum-silicon alloy (AS);
  • Zinc-magnesium alloy (ZM).

The standard also applies to multiphase steels subjected to hot-dip galvanizing and alloying, ensuring high levels of adhesion and corrosion resistance. The basic thickness range for products according to the standard is from 0.20 mm to 3.0 mm.

Custom solutions and extended specifications

EV Group China engineers are ready to provide metal supplies with parameters exceeding standard values. Upon individual request, we supply products with thicknesses from less than 0.20 mm to 6.5 mm and above, with precise compliance with specified mechanical properties and coating adhesion characteristics.

The regulation covers:

  • Strip steel of any width;
  • Sheet steel obtained by slitting (width ≥ 600 mm);
  • Slit strip and cut-to-length sheets (width < 600 mm).

Products complying with EN 10346 standards are the optimal choice for critical structures where a combination of high strength, formability, and durability is essential. The coating thickness is selected based on the corrosivity of the operating environment. This metal product serves as a reliable base for applying organic coatings according to the EN 10169 standard, which is widely used in industrial and civil construction. EV Group China guarantees that the supplied products meet the most stringent technological requirements.
